Below is a photograph of a fume cupboard constructed from fibreglass and damaged beyond repair. The fire occurred when a laboratory technician was testing a product and by the time he returned with a fire extinguisher the fire had burnt through the top of the fume cupboard. As a result the ductwork was also deformed all the way to the exhaust fan on the roof.

The company in question immediately ordered that all fibreglass fume cupboards be stripped from the laboratory and replaced with ASAH® constructed fume cupboards only.
